MSC-Z is located on a 14-acre property ~15km out of the CBD of the City of Bulawayo. The Home, which is inspired by the healing and caring Ministry of Jesus Christ, aims through the positive interaction of caring, sharing and training, to uplift the most vulnerable members of society, especially handicapped and abandoned children, and marginalized communities. The Home commits to the fostering of homes and communities, to attain love, respect, joy, hope and dignity.
Mustard Seed Communities Zimbabwe has shown significant growth over the past 19 years in its mission of caring and uplifting the most vulnerable especially children living with disabilities. The Children’s home houses 34 children, 31 of whom have special needs. The home currently has 3 family units were the necessary social, medical, spiritual and educational needs are provided. The Children’s Home cares for disadvantaged, physically challenged and autistic children being identified through the Department of Social Development.
In addition to the children’s home, the organisation currently runs four Nutrition programs providing a hot meal five times a week to over 1000 children in five locations within the Bulawayo Community, two Pre-schools offering Early Childhood Development education to over 80 children. MSC endeavours to be self-reliant and to sustain its programs and has embarked on several income generating activities inclusive of chicken rearing and market gardening.
